Good, Better, Best: The Secret to Scaling Faster
Nov 08, 2025
Most people never finish what they start—not because they lack ability, but because they’re waiting for perfection.
They polish, tweak, and overthink until the idea loses its pulse. And in the process, momentum dies.
That’s why I teach the framework I call Good, Better, Best—because progress beats perfection every time.

The trap of perfectionism
Perfectionism feels noble. It wears the mask of excellence—but it’s really fear in disguise.
When we wait for perfect, what we’re really doing is avoiding exposure. We’re afraid of being judged, misunderstood, or falling short.
But the truth is: you can’t refine what you never release.
Every great product, business, or leader you admire started at good. Then they improved from there.
How “Good, Better, Best” actually works
Here’s the rhythm:
-
Good: Launch what you have. Don’t overthink it—ship it.
-
Better: Gather feedback. Learn, adjust, improve.
-
Best: Scale it. Refine it. Build on proven progress.
This framework isn’t about lowering standards—it’s about building excellence through iteration.
Good is the foundation. Better is the process. Best is the result.
If you skip the first two steps, you’ll never reach the last.
Excellence vs. perfection
There’s a difference between excellence and perfection.
Excellence says, “Let’s give our best with what we have.”
Perfection says, “We can’t move until it’s flawless.”
One builds momentum. The other kills it.
Excellence is scalable. Perfection is paralyzing.
Leaders who understand this distinction don’t just grow faster—they help their teams grow faster, too.
When your team knows they can miss occasionally, they’ll stretch farther.
If everything you do lands perfectly, you’re playing it too safe, and most likely moving too slow.
Building confidence through iteration
The first time I launched a project using Good, Better, Best, it wasn’t pretty. But it worked.
We learned faster, built smarter, and created results that would’ve never happened if we’d waited for “ready.”
Each iteration built confidence. Every small win fueled the next step.
Leadership isn’t about having it all figured out—it’s about being willing to figure it out in motion.
Faith and forward motion
Faith and progress are deeply connected.
Faith moves first—then clarity comes.
If you wait until everything makes sense, you’ll miss what God’s trying to grow in you through the process.
When you take imperfect action in faith, you create room for His excellence to meet your effort.
Perfection demands control. Faith requires trust.
And trust is where real growth begins.
