Stop Settling for the Knockoff.
The Word at the Table
I'm Neal Reyes, The Entrepreneurs' Pastor, and I'm glad you're at the table. This week I want to drop something on you that I believe is going to change the way you see a topic that has been widely misunderstood, widely feared, and widely misrepresented both inside and outside the church. Pull up a chair. This one is going to challenge the way you think.
This Week's Word: Stop Settling for the Knockoff
Let me start with something I need you to really sit with before we go anywhere else today.
The enemy has no creativity of his own. None. He cannot create. He does not have the authority or the power to bring something into existence from nothing. The only thing he knows how to do is manipulate and counterfeit what God has already established.
I want you to sit with that for a second. Because here is what that means for you. Every time you encounter something in this world that looks like a knockoff of a godly principle, that counterfeit is actually proof that the original exists. You cannot counterfeit something that is not real. The fake only has value because the real thing has value first.
That is not just a concept. That is a spiritual law that has enormous implications for how you live, how you pray, how you speak, and how you lead.
Here is a practical picture of what I mean. If you are a woman and you desire a luxury handbag, you know there is a version you can buy for several thousand dollars. And you know there are places where you can buy what looks like the same bag for a fraction of the price. Same design. Same logo. But it is not the real thing. It is a counterfeit.
God does not want you carrying around the counterfeit version of His Word. He came so that you could have life and have it more abundantly. John 10:10 NKJV tells us it is the enemy who comes as a thief to steal, to kill, and to destroy. But Jesus came that you might have life and have it more abundantly. He wants you operating by the original. Not a cheap knockoff.
Now here is why I am teaching on this today. The topic of manifestation has billions of views online. Billions. People all over the world are hungry to understand it and are turning to whatever voice will teach them. And here is the problem. Most of what is being taught is the world's counterfeit version. It removes God from the equation. It replaces Him with the universe, with energy, with frequency and vibration, with cosmic force. And when you remove God from the equation, you remove the power from the equation.
But here is what the church has largely failed to do. Instead of teaching the original, we have retreated from the topic entirely because we did not feel comfortable with it. And so the people who needed to hear the truth went looking for it somewhere else and found the counterfeit instead.
My assignment within Neal Reyes Ministries is to wake up the church, set the captives free, and reach the lost. And part of that assignment is being willing to teach the things that God has placed in His Word even when they feel uncomfortable or controversial. So today I want to show you three things that biblical manifestation is built on, drawn directly from His Word. Not the world's version. God's original.
The first is this. You have the ability to call it. Romans 4:17 NKJV says, as it is written, I have made you a father of many nations in the presence of Him whom he believed, God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did. God Himself taught Abraham, the father of faith, the spiritual law of calling things not as they are but as they are meant to be. This is not New Age. This is biblical. And it has been in His Word far longer than it has been trending on social media.
The second is this. Your words carry the power to create. Proverbs 18:21 NKJV says, death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. What you speak over your life and your business matters. You are either creating or destroying with your words. And if you are not satisfied with the way things look right now, one of the first places to look is what has been flowing out of your mouth. Stinky heart, stinky mouth. Good things in, good things out. That is not complicated. That is scripture.
The third is this. What you put out is what you will get back. Galatians 6:7 NKJV says, do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. God's Word operates like a boomerang. What you put out comes back to you. You are always sowing something. The question is what.
Now I want to make a turn because the same principle that runs through everything I just taught you applies directly to how you lead.
Most leaders operate reactively. They wait until the crisis is in front of them before they act. They wait until the budget conversation to bring up the expense. They wait until the culture is broken to address what caused it. They wait until the team is already frustrated to start communicating clearly. That is the counterfeit version of leadership. It is a cheap knockoff of what intentional, strategic leadership actually looks like.
I have a principle I have taught my teams for years that I call breadcrumbing. Picture a labyrinth. Uncharted territory. Your team is behind you and they need to follow you through it. But you are out front and they cannot see you. So how do you get them to follow? You drop breadcrumbs. Small, intentional trail markers along the way that give your people a path to walk in behind you.
In leadership, breadcrumbing means you are communicating early, consistently, and strategically, long before a decision has to be made, long before the crisis arrives. You call a brief meeting and say, I am not asking for a decision today, but I want you to know that in eighteen months we are going to need to replace this equipment. Just putting that on your radar. And then a couple of months later you come back and say, remember that conversation? Here is a little more detail. And then again. And then again.
By the time the purchase needs to happen, nobody is surprised. The budget has been softened. The trust has been built. The decision is easy because the breadcrumbs were already there.
Here is what I want you to understand. Breadcrumbing is not manipulation. It is not politics. It is the original version of leadership communication. Most leaders default to the counterfeit, which is reacting to fires, making surprise announcements, and wondering why people do not trust them. The original requires intentionality, foresight, and the willingness to lead before anyone is asking you to.
Whether it is in your faith life or your leadership, the difference between operating by the original and settling for the counterfeit always comes down to one thing. Intentionality. God gave you the original. His Word, His principles, His power. Stop settling for the knockoff.
Take This With You
This week I want you to do two things. First, identify one area of your life where you have been operating by the world's version of a principle that actually belongs to God. Maybe it is how you speak over your circumstances. Maybe it is how you pray. Whatever it is, go find what His Word actually says about it and start operating from the original this week.
Second, think about one situation in your leadership or your relationships right now where you have been reacting instead of leading. Then ask yourself what breadcrumb you can drop this week that starts building the path before the crisis arrives. One intentional conversation. One proactive message. That is where trust gets built.
From the Table Last Week
On Champion's Walk, my faith show that teaches Real Help For Real Hope, I brought you Is Manifestation in the Bible? The Truth Every Believer Needs to Hear. I went straight at one of the most controversial and misunderstood topics in the church today and showed you exactly what biblical manifestation looks like directly from God's Word. We dug into Romans 4:17 NKJV, Proverbs 18:21 NKJV, Galatians 6:7 NKJV, and the critical difference between the world's cheap counterfeit and the real thing God has always had for you. If you have been confused or curious about this topic, this one is going to give you clarity and confidence. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4kQQh0ZAHg&list=PLMPDSgKkGZNvHLzeBuhqHvZhuCSMEQEgV
On The Executive Perspective, my leadership and business show that delivers Real Help For Real Success, I introduced Breadcrumbing: The Leadership Strategy That Makes People Want to Follow You. This is one of the most effective leadership communication strategies I have ever employed across nineteen years of executive leadership. I broke down what it is, how to use it, and why it is the single most powerful way to build trust, shift culture, and lead people through uncharted territory before the crisis ever arrives. If you lead a team, a business, or a department, this episode is going to change how you communicate starting this week. Until Next Time
The original always outperforms the counterfeit. In your faith, in your words, in your leadership, and in your life. Choose the original this week. Be intentional. Drop the breadcrumbs. Speak the Word. And watch what God does with it.
This Wednesday on Champion's Walk, I'm bringing you a fresh word that I believe is going to meet you exactly where you are. Don't miss it.
Then Saturday on The Executive Perspective, I'm dropping something for the leaders and entrepreneurs who are ready to operate at their next level. This one is going to challenge you to think bigger, lead better, and push past where you are right now. Be there.
I'll see you at the table next Tuesday.
